About

Industrial Product Design, in the most inclusive sense, encompasses shaping of the objective world, which constitutes the environment of the human being, in order to benefit from it in line with human needs. In other words, Industrial Product Design includes designing all kinds of goods that can be mass-produced for the needs of various user groups.

However, designing industrial products is not only an effort to focus on the innovative construction of the relationship between form and function in line with human needs and desires, but also to contribute to the production of value and knowledge through creative approaches in the local and global competitive environments of today's world. Therefore, it is necessary to acknowledge that industrial design includes a way of thinking that is responsible for making the future a liveable reality.

In this respect, our program focuses on an interdisciplinary approach in cooperation with fields such as visual communication, engineering sciences and business management. In this process, students receive a wide range of courses including industrial design history, user research, design methods, innovative idea development, prototyping and computer modeling.

Industrial designers can work as a designer in many sectors such as consumption and usage objects, consumer electronics objects, household appliances, furniture, lighting, automotive and transportation systems, urban and public space products, and packaging, and they can work in R & D departments of companies.
